Samuel Gelstons Irish Cup Final Preview

6th May 2022

The Samuel Gelstons Irish Whiskey Irish Cup Final is now upon us and Crusaders go head to head with Ballymena United in the 2022 Final at The National Stadium. Both sides strongly fancy their chances and it will make the game an exciting and entertaining one for all present and watching on TV.

Crusaders go into the game with practically everyone fit and Stephen Baxter and his management team have quite a headache to pick the team given individual performances these last few weeks. Every player has been magnificent in the last round of games and where unfortunate not to take third place in the Premiership table in the final game last week. We wait too see who gets the nod but whoever does will of course do the red and black shirt proud.

Crusaders Route To The Final

1st Round Glenavon 0 Crusaders 4

2nd Round Ballinamallard United 0 Crusaders 1

Quarter Final Crusaders 4 Dungannon Swifts 0

Semi Final Cliftonville 1 Crusaders 2

Ballymena United will also be confident of winning and the added incentive is they qualify for european  competition after missing out on a play off slot. David Jeffrey of course is an astute and experienced manager like Stephen Baxter and will have plotted a course that he hopes will see victory. Again we wait too see his line up but rest assured it will be difficult no matter who he plays.
