Reserves Start League With A Win

12th Aug 2024

Crusaders Reserves started their NIFL Development League campaign with a good 2-1 win over Glentoran II's at Seaview tonight.

The young side went 1-0 down in the first 15 minutes but the heads never dropped and kept at it with several chances missed including hitting the post after a good move. The second half started like the first half ended with Crusaders Reserves on top and they deservedly equalised when Cole McElena slotted home after a patient build up. Their positive attitude got them tha second goal which proved to be the winner when substitute Bernard Nsiah recacted quickest and put the goal over tried  the goal line with twenty one minutes left. Scott Mashal in the Crusaders Reserves goals dealt with anything that Glentoran II's and on the whistle it was the hosts who picked up the first three poiints of their season.

Next up is the Steel & Sons Cup 2nd Round on Saturday against Queens University at Seaview with a 2pm kick off and again it is FREE entry.
