In a game to celebrate the start of Crusaders 125th Anniversary celebrations a youthful Rangers B team cam to Seaview and left with a 3-1 victory.
The game was only 3 minutes old when Ross McCausland scored after 3 minutes with a volley. Crusaders came back quickly at Rangers B though and where rewarded on 11 minutes when Jay Boyd finished with a cool strike after great work by Mikhail Kennedy in the build up. The game went back and forward in an entertaining first half but neither team scored and halftime was all square.
The second half was a more quieter affair as both sides made changes and tried to get ahead. Rangers B did eventually when Aaron Lyall scored from outside the box on 56 minutes. As both teams played out a spirited game the introduction of none other than Carl Frampton for the final 8 minutes of the game get a massive cheer and a lovely flick drew a large cheer. Rangers B finished on a high when Ross McCausland got his second on the game on 89 minutes with a shot on the edge of the box leaving it 3-1 at the whistle.
So defeat but a great workout for the squad and we would like to thank Rangers B for coming over and playing the fixture in the spirited way they did. Next up is the Europa Conference League Qualifier on tThursday against FC Haka at Seaview (8pm)
