Portadown v Crusaders. Danske Bank Premiership 18th March

18th Mar 2023

Crusaders are on their travels this week and are off to Shamrock Park to play Portadown on Saturday (3pm). It's a big game with consequences at each end of the table so both teams will go for it and it should be a cracker for the supporters.

Stephen Baxter will look for more of the same from side after Monday nights performance against Cliftonville. Every player played their part and if all report fit their should be little change to the team. Adam Lecky could return if passed fit but Jarlath O'Rourke may not make it as he recovers. Crusaders will give Niall Curries side respect despite their position in the table and will know how tough this game could be as they look to keep in touch with the top three in the table.

Portadown are attempting to escape dropping into the Championship and are making a big fight of it. Three points in every game is nothing but the bottom line for the side and three wins in the last five prove they are giving it a go. When Niall Currie took over the reins he made several big signings including Paul McElroy and Chris Rodgers who along with Josh Archer and Paddy McNally for example could cause problems and Crusaders will be ready.

Crusaders and Portadown have met twice this season with Crusaders winning both at Seaview
