It's League Cup action on Tuesday night and Crusaders are away to Portadown on Tuesday night at Shamrock Park (7.45pm) It's a big test for Niall Curries men who sit second in the Championship table and the chance to take on a Premiership side will really get them going.
Crusaders will you use the depth of the squad for this game so we could see a few changes for this one. Jordan Owens, Jude Winchester, Mikhail Kennedy and Lloyd Anderson could all start with James Teelan and Mal Smith possibly retaining their starting spot as manager Stephen Baxter rotates the squad to give a rest to players who have hardly missed a minute all season in the Premiership. On the other hand though we may see Saturdays team play again without a change as they look to get rid of Saturdays loss from their system. Crusaders will know Portadown are out for the big scalp and will make sure they are prepared for what could be a tough night ahead.
Portadown are flying high in the Championship and will believe they can go “toe to toe” with Crusaders and give them a good game. Manager Niall Currie will have done his homework and set up his side accordingly. Crusaders could come up against ex Crusaders players Aaron Hogg, Gary Thompson and Paul McElroy if selected and they also have some decent ex premiership players in Aaron Traynor, Chris Rodgers, Douglas Wilson, Eoin Bradley, Ross Redman and Ryan Mayse to call on also so Crusaders will need to be ready which of course they will.
So all set for a cracker and we want you with us to be the 12th man. Tickets are available at www.portadownfc.co.uk or you can pay at the cash gate on the night. Adults £8 Concession £5 Primary School Kids £1 is the price structure and we hope you can make the trip and get behind the team as we look to progress in the competition. Keep the Faith. C'mon the Crues.
