Crusaders are through to the Quarter Finals of the BetMcLean Cup after a dramatic last minute win over Coleraine at Seaview this evening. Hero of the night in a team full of heroes was Philip Lowry who scored two goals in the second half including a 90th minute beauty to put Crusaders in the hat for the Quarter Final draw being made tomorrow (Wednesday) at 3pm.
In a very open game both sides gave it a go but it was Coleraine who took the lead when Matthew Shevlin scored from close range with a header. Both goalkeepers where in good form and kept their teams in it and Mal Smith even hit the bar with a thunderbolt that flew past Rory Brown. Crusaders eqalised in the 48th minute when Philip Lowrys shot took a deflectionand the ball went over Rory Brown into the net. Coleraine did not trouble Johnny Tuffey at all and Crusaders deservedly got the winner in the final seconds when Philip Lowry got in at the back post to volley home a Jarlath O'Rourke free kick sending the home support wild. It was to late for Coleraine to hit back and Crusaders went through on the referees whistle.
