It is a change of competition on Tuesday when Crusaders make the journey down to Milltown to play Warrenpoint Town in the BetMcLean.com League Cup. Crusaders will go into the game in positive form after Saturdays big win against Coleraine but Warrenpoint Town will want to fly the flag for the Intermediate League and will be out to a big scalp.
Stephen will assess his squad prior to the game. Some of the lads are nursing niggling injuries and the latest to join them was Robbie Weir who limped out of the warm up last Saturday. The depth of the squad will be used for this game and we could see James Teelan, Mikhail Kennedy, Mal Smith and Josh Robinson all getting a start if called on. Whoever does start will still be totally prepared and focused on the job they have to do and with morale high it will not be to hard to have everyone pulling in the right direction. The last time Crusaders played at Milltown they came away with a 1-0 victory back on January 2022
Warrenpoint Town and Barry Gray will be up for this game and will work hard to get a big result. They have played only two games in the Intermediate League so far and have won both including 7-0 against PSNI but they know this will be a tougher prospect for them. Town will look to their time in the Premiership when Crusaders came to play in sometimes some very tight games and work out a game plan to beat them. Steven Ball and James McElligot are the top scorers so far with two goals each but Dauda Shotayo has also been given some good reviews and will also need watched by the Crusaders defence.
We would love to you with us as we begin another journey so why not come down and get behind the team. It is a cash gate with admission prices £8 Adults and £5 Concession. Get the colours on and enjoy a midweek trip and the chance to watch your team in action.
See you there. Keep The Faith. C'mon The Crues.
