Time to get your thinking caps on. The Board have asked the Supporters Clubs to organise a Hall of Fame competition. Previous competitions have been splits into eras, Pre 60’s, 60’s and 70’s and 80’s and 90’s. The following players have already been nominated and will not be considered for the new Hall of Fame.
Pre 60’s - Arthur Brady; Currie Mulholland; Jackie Vernon; and Jimmy Simpson.
60’s and 70’s - Albert Campbell; Walter McFarland; John McPolin and Norman Pavis.
80’s and 90’s - Sid Burrrows; Glenn Dunlop; Glenn Hunter and Kirk Hunter.
The Nominee must have finished their playing or managerial career. Initially we will be handing out nomination forms and making them available via social media so that as many supporters can nominate those players who they think would qualify for the honour of being in the Hall of Fame. A new era will be added for 2000 and 2010. Once all nominations are in, we will then go to the voting phase where you will actually vote for who should be in the Hall of Fame.
Further details will be published soon so keep your eyes out for the forms and make sure you make your nomination and get your vote.
David Kerr (Glengormley), Ashley Rainey (Ian McDonald), Trevor Goodall (Grove), Robert White (North Belfast) and Malcolm Hollywood (Whitehouse).
