Larne v Crusaders. Sports Direct Premiership. Saturday 6th April

6th Apr 2024

We are now into the split fixtures at the business end of the season and in the first of the last five games Crusaders go to Sports Direct Premiership leaders Larne to keep the hopes of a fourth place spot alive at Inver Park (3pm) Crusaders must leapfrog Glentoran between now and 27th April to get home advantage in the european play off games and even a possible bye to the final depending on other results. Larne are edging Linfield in the table and must maintain a 100% record over the last games or risk being pipped to the title so it is all to play for for both sides.

Crusaders know what they have to do over the next five games and they are focused on getting fourth spot to keep the european dream alive. A good win away to Newry City last week has been the launchpad of a good weeks training and Stephen has the team ready for battle. Bar the long term injuries everyone is fit and ready so we can expect the same players to take the field like last week. A bit of tinkering to keep tired legs rested may come into Stephens thinking but it will still be a strong side to take on the Premiership leaders.

Larne are bidding to retain the Gibson Cup so they have it all to play for. Crusaders will of course be out to stop it but Tiernan Lynch has a big money squad to pick from and keep their dream alive and will choose wisely. A massive win on Tuesday past against Cliftonviile at Solitude will have been a massive boost but top sides are their to be beaten and Crusaders are well aware of that from the past. It could be a busy day for the men in Black and Gold but as said they will meet the challenge head on. Key men to watch out for are Andy Ryan and Lee Bonis up front while Leroy Millar, Chris Gallagher and Tomas Cosgrove will also need watching. Levi Ives misses after sustaining an injury last week while Cian Bolger is suspended.

We want you with us at Inver Park as we sound the battle cry for the next few weeks. Head to Inver Park and get behind the team as look to secure a european spot and of course european football next season. Tickets are available at https://larnefc.com/tickets/  so go quickly and make the purchase and be the all important 12th man. See you at Inver. Keep the Faith. C'mon the Crues.
