Crusaders Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Harry Franklin on a two year deal. As a striker he has been playing in the Welsh League the past few seasons and was most recently at Conah's Quay Nomads where he helped them win the Welsh Cup by scoring the opening goal.. Harry played 58 times for his last employer scoring 20 goals. The 24 year old was actually born in Northern Ireland but moved to England where he started his career at Hereford. Harry can adapt and move wide or has been known to play attacking midfield also. Those who got a chance to watch Harry in our pre season game last Saturday left with a very positive view and he was certainly talked about in cars and buses on the way home from the game. His time in the Welsh League will indeed very valuable and he will certainly hit the ground running when he makes his debut.
Manager Declan Caddell is extremely excited on the signing and when he spoke to the website said "I'm thrilled that Harry has agreed to sign for us.
Harry has spent the last four seasons in the Welsh league with Aberystwyth and Connah quay Nomads. We have been watching him closely the past few months and this is the result. Harry guested in our Pre season friendly versus Ballyclare Comrades and fitted in with the group really well. He showed his pedigree on Saturday and we all have no doubts he will be a massive player for us this season"
Declan added “He’s a bit of an all rounder in terms of a centre forward and has all the attributes to push on as far as he would like to go. I Look forward to working with Harry in the next stage of his career”
Harry is equally eager to get started and told the website “I am excited with this new challenge and cannot wait to get with the boys and tackle the season ahead. Declan really sold the club to me and when I was over at the weekend they really looked after me. Declan told me about the way he wants to play and how he wants the new signings to play and also how he wants to put his new style on Crusaders and hopefully win a few trophies this season.”
Harry continued “I heard about Crusaders when playing in Europe and from teams I have played against in pre season and after doing our research I have a good idea of what it will be like”
Good Luck Harry and welcome to the Crusaders family!
