Glenavon v Crusaders. Sports Direct Premiership. Saturday 23rd December

23rd Dec 2023

We are off on our travels this week in the Sports Direct Premiership and we head to Mourneview Park, home of Glenavon, to play the last game before Santa appears next Monday. Crusaders will be looking to bounce back from last weeks defeat to Larne while Glenavon, although beaten in the last Premiership game, will want to continue the good form they have been in prior to that.

Last weeks defeat hurt the team and they want to get back to that winning feeling very quickly. The side are very much down to the bare bones and it is a case of managing injuries etc as we get through this tough period. Billy Joe Burns is also out through suspension so it makes things slightly harder as well but the side will battle on and hopefully produce a performance that will take the points back up the M1. Ross Clarke made a return last week so hopefully he can play again this week while Josh Robinson also comes back in after serving a suspension.

Glenavon have had a resurgence since Stephen Mc'Donnell and when he finally got them going they won five games on the bounce in the Premiership to pull themselves away from the bottom of the table. Mourneview Park is always a difficult place to go to and Crusaders will again go into the game knowing it will be a battle. Players to watch out for are Jack Malone and Aaron Pendergast while Robbie Garrett misses out out after a sending off last week. If picked Crusaders will also face ex Crusaders players Matthew Snoddy and Sean Ward .

We know it is so close to Christmas but we would love to have you with us at Mourneview Park on Saturday. Kick off is 3pm and you can purchase tickets from the Glenavon website. Come down to the game and let's hear your songs and support as we enter the busy schedule. Your support is important and it helps. Keep the Faith. C'mon the Crues.
