Glenavon v Crusaders. Danske Bank Premiership. 10th January

9th Jan 2023

The games come thick and fast in 2023 and Crusaders travel to Glenavon and Mourneview Park on Tuesday night to play the latest Danske Bank Premiership game (7.45pm) Both sides have good wins on Saturday in the Irish Cup but that is now behind them as the Premiership game now takes precedence. This game was originally scheduled for Saturday 17th December but was postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Stephen Baxter did not underestimate his Championship opponents on Saturday and named a full strength team and bar injuries we could see the same team play again. We saw the return of several players who had been out injured and they all looked fit and ready to get back involved on a weekly basis so the selection headache has eased slightly. Glenavon though are a step up again from Dergview  and they will be ready to take on the bigger challenge.

Gary Hamiltons side came through a tough Irish Cup game against Ballinamallard United on Saturday and they could mix the squad up but we wait too see. Glenavon have won only one of their last five games in the Premiership but Crusaders will know that counts for nothing against a side that can turn it on in an instant. Glenavon are tough to play at home and Gary Hamilton will look to break the poor form starting Tuesday night.

Crusader sand Glenavon have met once this season with Crusaders winning.
