Food Drive Collection Handed Over

15th Dec 2022

The Food Drive Collection that has been ongoing at the Club the last few weeks came to an end on Monday 12th and as promised the food, essentials and money donations that were so kindly donated by you were handed to the Salvation Army on York Street just a mile from the Crusaders by the Joanne Louise Boland the girl behind the whole scheme.

Several members of the Elite Academy along with Declan Caddell delivered the collection in the Academy van but not before a representative from the Salvation Army came to Seaview to thank Joanne Louise, Crusaders and Cliftonville Golf Club for doing such a great job. Stephen Baxter also took time out before training to thank everyone for thinking of the community at this time.

Joanne Louise sent her own message….

A massive Thank you to all who helped, donated food or money to the food drive.

It was a huge success and far more than I anticipated or could have dreamed of.

A total of £290 in cash was donated, this will be used by the Salvation Army to provide gas, electric or food vouchers.

A special thanks to Crusaders in the Community, McDonald Centre & Cliftonville Golf Club for allowing me the use of their premises as drop off/collection points. The Salvation Army for accepting the donations and arranging the distribution of the goods.

The biggest Thank you needs to go to anyone or everyone who contributed and helped in anyway to make this the success it was.

On behalf of myself, Salvation Army and those in receipt of help I Thank you and Wish you all a very Merry Christmas  and a peaceful New year.
