Dundela v Crusaders. BetMcLean.com League Cup Preview.

12th Sep 2022

Football returns on Tuesday night after the local games were suspended over the weekend past in memory of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeths passing and Crusaders make the short journey to East Belfast to play Championship side Dundela in the BetMcLean.com League Cup.  Dundela will of course be out to get a Premiership scalp but Crusaders will be ready.

Stephen Baxter will use his full squad for this game and we wait to see who starts, who will be on the bench and who will be rested ahead of Friday nights clash with Linfield at Seaview. Stephen will have been impressed with several players in last weeks 1-0 defeat to Linfield in the Co. Antrim Shield and they could keep their place for this cup game. Players who were rested may get a chance to stretch their legs while others could sit it out if they have a niggle. No matter who plays will know the importance of progressing in the competition they last won in 2012. Dundela will be looking a second cup win in a week after beating Ballyclare Comrades on penalties last week in the Co. Antrim Shield but Niall Currie also knows it will be a totally different game.. Dundela are also doing well in the Championship losing once in the opening five games and sit third in the table.

The sides last met in January 2020 in the Irish Cup with Crusaders winning 3-0.

The game has a 7.45pm at Wilgar Park and it's a cash gate. Admission is £8 Adult £5 Concession and Under 11's are FREE. The lads would appreciate your support so why not head across town and get behind the team. See you there. C'mon the Crues #. Keep The Faith.
