Crusaders continued to win in pre season games and tonight was no different when they saw newar neighbours Newington off with a 3-0 scoreline. The first half went through the rountine and only for several fine stops by Newington keeper Dean Smyth Crusaders would have ahead but it stayed 0-0 at half time.
Crusaders upped the pace and made a few changes and they started to show the class. but the goals bame in the final 15 minutes as both fitness and skill from Crusaders won. Jordan Forsythe scored from the penalty spot sending Smyth the wrong way and a minute later a great ball in by Ttrialist B was met at the back post and turned in by Trialist A as they combined for a seond goal. Deam Smyth in the Newington goal pulled off massive saves again to keep the score down but he did not have a chance for the third when Philip Lpowry launched a 22 yard effort flying into night with final whistle blowing seconds later.
So another good run out as players get minutes in their legs and only one pre season game remains with a short trip to Ballyclare on Saturday to play Ballyclare Comrades at Dixon Park (3pm)
