Crusaders v Glenavon. Sports Direct Premiership. 24th February

23rd Feb 2024

Crusaders are at home for the first time since the beginning of February and Glenavon are the opposition as go onto the final run of games before the split (3pm) Both sides have a lot to play for with Crusaders looking to close in on fourth spot if Glentoran lose to Larne on Friday evening while Glenavon cling on to a chance of getting into the top six of the table if results go their way.

Crusaders will want to continue the winning form they got back last week after winning at Loughgall and their may be changes to the line up. Billy Joe Burns does return to the panel after suspension and manager Stephen Baxter may also take the chance to shuffle the pack giving one or two a rest to the bench and those on the bench starting. Johnny Tuffey may come back into contention while Stewart Nixon will look for a start also so we will just have to wait until 1.45pm to see who has made it. The side picked will know the importance of the game and after a good week of training they are all ready to give it everything.

Glenavon have only one of their last five Premiership games after a good start under manager Stephen O'Donnell but they will fight for everything as they look to get into the top half of the table by the end of March. They lost 4-2 last week at Solitude but did lead at one stage so they still are a danger and also drew with Linfield the week before. Crusaders will give Glenavon respect as always and could come up against ex Crusaders players Sean Ward and Matthew Snoddy if selected. Players to watch are Jack Malone and Aaron Prendergast while Matthew Snoddy and Robert Garrett could cause problems.

So we look forward to another important game and we want you with us as always. You can buy tickets at www.crusadersfc.com anytime at Harry D's  up to 1pm on Saturday and then the ticket office inside the McDonald Centre from 1.30pm to kick off. We have loved your support this season and as we enter another phase of the Premiership season and we ask you come out to the game and get behind the team once again. It is appreciated.

Keep the Faith. C'mon the Crues.
