It was not to be at the National Stadium tonight as Crusaders U18's went down 2-1 to Larne U18's in the Harry Cavan Youth Cup Final.
The first half saw Larne come out of the blocks faster and they where 2-0 up by the half hour when Bryce Gray scored from a free kick after 17 minutes and Jack Hastings doubled the lead on 26 minutes when he danced through the Crusaders U18's defence and slotted home. Crusaders U18's reacted positively and pulled a goal back when Bernard Nsiah scored from a corner on 34 minutes and that is the way the half ended.
The second half saw CrusadersU18's dominate large parts of the game but they could not change it into a goal. They forced corner after corner that caused all sorts of problems and every player gave it their all but couldn't make the breakthrough. No matter what they did they could not get the equaliser and on the whistle Larne U18's where mightily relieved and took the trophy home.
Well done to all the team and although not winners they where a credit to the badge.
