Congratulations to Crusaders Strikers who last night defeated Glentoran Women 2-1 at Ashfield Boys High School to make it into the Toalsbet.com Co. Antrim Womens Challenge Cup FInal.
Going into the game on the back of a 5-0 defeat by the same side at the same venue just a few days before Crusaders Strikers got the perfect start when Faith Johnston put them ahead after 4 minutes. Still holding the lead at half time Crusaders Strikers again came out after half time on a mission and went 2-0 up on the night when Captain Amy McGivern got the goal on 47 minutes. Glentoran Women did pull a goal back on 74 minutes when Kerry Beattie scored but it was not enough as Crusaders Strikers celebrated at the whistle and can now look forward to a final against Cliftonville Ladies (venue and date to be announced)
Well done ladies and to know the game was won with 14 of the 18 squad members coming through the Academy it looks like the foundation laid down is now starting to come together.
