Crusaders Strikers suffered a heavy defeat tonight in County Antrim FA Toalsbet.com League Cup Final going down 6-0 to Cliftonville Ladies at the Blanchflower Stadium in East Belfast.
The Ladies found themselves a goal down on 12 minutes when Danielle Maxwell scored direct from a corner and it got worse on 24 minutes when a Danielle Maxwell shot came off Lisa Armour and past Maddy Harvey-Clifford to make it 2-0. Fi Morgan made it 3-0 on 31 minutes and the half ended even worse when Marissa Callaghan made it 4-0 on 44 minutes.
The start of the second half did not get any better with Kirsty McGuinness making it 5-0 just four minutes gone after the restart and Fi Morgan got her second of the game on 66 minutes to make it 6-0. Neither side found the nest after the sixth had gone in and on the whistle Cliftonville Ladies had won and lifted the trophy at the presentation from the County Antrim rep.
Well beaten but they look ahead and next up is Linfield Ladies this Friday at Seaview (8pm)
