Crusaders Reserves are out of this years Steel & Sons Cup after going down 3-0 to Willowbank FC at The Cliff in Larne.
It was a huge step up in opposition for the young side and they found themselves 1-0 down after 13 minutes when Conal Maguire got the last touch as the ball bounced around the box and they went further behind after 25 minutes when Ciaran Manson rose the highest and headed home from a corner kick. Crusaders Reserves found it hard to create an opening in either half and the game went beyond their reach when Thomas McCrory finished off a move on 74 minutes that saw a Crusaders Reserve player fouled in the build up but the referee missed the incident. Crusaders Reserves did try and get even a consolation goal for their efforts but couldn't and the game ended 3-0 to Willowbank who now progress.
They don't have time to feel sorry for themselves as they return to Premiership Development League action on Monday night when they play Carrick Rangers Reserves at Taylors Avenue (7.45pm)
