Crusaders Strikers welcome Larne Women FC and welcome back ex Crusaders’ striker, Hollie Johnston, to the Sports Direct NIFL Premiership at Seaview. The Strikers have an impeccable home record this season and want to protect it. Both teams started frenetically. Larne’s defence were strong and resisted the pressure. Larne expertly cleared a Lisa Armour header off the line and looked solid. However, Crusaders Strikers continued pummelling away and eventually got a break through when Faith Johnson was up ended by Sasha Clare. The referee pointed at the spot and Johnson stepped up to convert coolly in the right-hand corner. Minutes later, after the ball was not cleared out of the Larne penalty box Faith Johnson was able to tap in for her brace. Larne’s keeper Kate Smith has been the busier of the two keepers and caught the ball well. The half ended 2 nil to Crusaders Strikers. In the second half Crusaders continued their dominance. They peppered the Larne goal but Kate Smith stayed strong showing a safe pair of hands. Substitutions brought fresh legs for Crusaders Strikers and Darcy Boyle scored a great goal. Larne nearly scored a wonder goal of their own by Leah Wilgaus. Later Caitlyn Hamilton tapped home and the final result was another win for Crusaders Strikers. Their unbeaten run continued with 4 nil win. Next game is away to Sion Swifts FC Friday 26th and the next home game is on Friday 2nd June against Lisburn Ladies (KO 8pm)
