Crusaders Legend Albert Campbell Passes Away

10th Oct 2022

It is with great sadness that the club has learnt of the untimely passing of Crusaders legend Albert Campbell.

Albert played well over 500 games for Crusaders in the late 50's and through the 60's and his performances at centre half made him a favourite of every supporter and his name is still spoken about today. He was also a member of our first Irish Cup winning team in 1967 and won several other medals during his wonderful career at Seaview.

Albert won 2 International caps for Northern Ireland (the first Crusaders player to do so) during his career playing against Wales and Switzerland in 1963/64.

On behalf of Crusaders Football Club Chairman Ronnie Millar wishes to pass on his deepest sympathies and condolences on behalf of the club to Alberts family at this sad time and asks that our thoughts and prayers are with the Campbell family.

RIP Albert. Crusaders Legend
