Crusaders Football Club is delighted to confirm the permanent transfer of Jacob Blaney from Hibernian Football Club on a 2-year deal with effect from 14th June. The 19-year-old, 6ft 2in defender from Coatbridge will bolster Crusaders' defence in advance of the UEFA Conference League Qualifiers in July.
Blaney, known for his robust defending and tactical awareness, has been with Hibernian since he was 7 years old. He made his first team debut at age 17 in a 4-0 win over St Johnstone. During his time at Hibs, he also played a key role in their UEFA Youth League run, where Hibs reached the last 32 before being narrowly defeated 2-1 by Borussia Dortmund. Additionally, Blaney gained valuable experience through loan spells with East Fife and Stenhousemuir.
We warmly welcome Jacob to Crusaders and look forward to his contributions on the field. Jacob will join his new team mates in time to prepare for Europe & the new season.
Crusaders FC would like to place our thanks to Hibernian FC for their professionalism and assistance during our negotiations.
