Crusaders came from behind today at the Ballymena Showgrounds to beat Ballymena United 4-2 in a super second half performance to leapfrog Glentoran into fourth place who where beaten 3-0 at home by Loughgall.
In a strange first half Crusaders could not get going against a busy home side although they did take the lead when Adam Lecky finished well on 11 minutes turning and shooting past Sean 'Oneill from 15 yards. Ballymena Utd came back and equalised with Kym Nelson shooting home from a suspicious offside position but the assistant ref thought otherwise after 18 minutes. Utd where not finished and they went in to the break 2-1 ahead when Fraser Taylor unleashed an unstoppable dipping shot from 20 yards past Johnny Tuffey after 28 minutes.
Crusaders half time chat must have worked as they came out guns blazing and it payed off with Ben Kennedy equalizing with a header from a Daniel Larmour header into the danger area from a Crusaders free kick on 51 minutes. Paul Heatley got Crusaders ahead on 71 minutes when he finished well from a good through ball by Ken Kennedy and the game was made safe when Jarlath O'Rourke volleyed home a wonderful Paul Heatley cross to leave it 4-2 at the end.
