Crusaders Beat Glenavon In 2nd Half Comeback

15th Oct 2022

Crusaders today fought hard and came back twice to beat Glenavon 3-2 in the Dankske Bank Premiership at Seaview.

It was nip and tuck in the first half until Glenavon opened the scoring forcing the ball over the line when Eoin Bradley got the last touch from a Peter Cambell shot after Crusaders failed to clear. Crusaders though equalised just before half time when Philip Lowry headed home a super Billy Joe Burns crosss and the half ended 1-1. The second half was only five minutes old when Crusaders went behind again with Conor Scannell getting in at the back post unmarked and heading home. This only angered Crusaders and the game turned on its head in the space of 5 minutes through sub Adam Lecky. after the hour mark. On 64 minutes Glenavon keeper Rory Brown punched the ball high into the air instead of giving it distance and Adam Lecky was the first to react and headed home from close range to make it 2-2. The big striker wasn't finished and on 69 minutes he got into the box to control and cross and picked his spot perfectly to beat the keeper and it was 3-3. The number 9 was on fire and nearly got his hat trick a minute later only for a last ditch tackle to stop him.
