It was another pre season win today as Crusaders eased to a 4-0 victory over Crumlin Uted at Tom McPeake Park in Crumlin. A good blend of new and established squad members took to the field and enjoyed a decent game that saw some decent moves and players starting to understand each other.
The game started with Crusaders on the front foot and they where rewarded when Billy Vance collected a good pass before cutting and curling his shot past the home keeper. after 11 minutes. Crusaders pushed on and where frustrated with the officials who made some poor calls on offsides but they kept their frustrations intact and went 2-0 ahead on 37 minutes when Kieran Offord got the rub of the green in a tackle and ran through on goal before lifting the ball over the keeper into the net.
The second half was much the same with Johnny Tuffey having little to do but it took it to 72 minutes before sub Jordan Owens scored Crusaders third finishing well with a volley after a superb cross by Jonny James. Jordan Owens got his second and Crusaders fourth seconds before the whistle on 90 minutes when he put the ball over the line from close range and 4-0 was the final scoreline.
We would like to thank Crumlin United for the game and wish them the best for the incoming season.
Next for Crusaders is a another pre season friendly on Thursday night at Seaview against Newington (7.45pm)
