Everyone at Crusaders Football Club are saddened to hear of the sad and untimely passing of life long supporter Clifford Davidson this week.
Clifford could be seen home and away watching the team in action until illness prevented him and would have been clebrating many of our victories and cup successes with friends and family in the stands on every occasion. Clifford always met you with a smile in all the Irish League grounds and beyond and would be seen getting behind the team on the pitch no matter what.
Clifford was not only a passionate "die hard" of Crusaders FC he was also a good friend and year on year for many seasons sponsored a Player Of The Year prize and players, both past and present, won a TV on the night as reward for their performances through the season. Their was no prouder a man in the room than Clifford when he handed it over. It is a gesture that will not be forgotten by the Club.
Chairman Mark Lamghammer on hearing of Cliffords passing said "I was devastated to hear of Cliffords passing as I am sure many are. We were aware Clifford was ill but it still hits home when the news comes through that he has passed. I cannot thank Clifford enough for his support for the Club both as a supporter and as a sponsor and he will be sorely missed in the stands and terraces in the future".
Mark added "To his wife Joyce, Children Louise, Paul and Claire and the grandchildren can I offer the sincere condolences of Crusaders Football Club at this time. Clifford touched many peoples lives in a positive way and that will be a massive comfort to the family"
Mark has asked that we keep Clifford and the Davidson family in our thoughts at this time and as a mark of respect the Club flag will fly at half mast at Seaview during our first pre season game on Saturday 28th June.
At Peace.
