Coleraine v Crusaders. Sports Direct Premiership. Saturday 20th April

19th Apr 2024

Another game and it is as big as they have come lately with Crusaders travelling to play Coleraine at the Coleraine Showgrounds (3pm) knowing a win will gave them fourth place in the Sports Direct Premiership without having to worry going into the last game aginast Glentoran. That fourth place of course gives home adavantage in the european play offs and indeed a possible passage into the play off final subject to who finishes in seventh place.

Stephen Baxter and the team know the importance of the next 90 minutes of football in their bid for European football next season. Tuesday nights win over Cliftonville in the North Belfast Derby will have been parked and the focus will be on doing it all again against Coleraine. Billy Joe Burns will miss through injury after suffereing a knock and Jude Winchester may be a doubt also but everyone else should be available for this game with Adam Lecky easing himself back and Paul Heatley coming off as a precaution last time around. Jordan Owens has been superb leading the line the last two games and should he start this time will no doubt do it all again. The defence have also been in great form and thsi all looks well heading into Saturdays game.

Coleraine haven't won any of their last five in the Premiership games but they have drawn four of them and they will be looking to finish the season with some form ahead of their possible European play off game. It has been an up and down for Oran Kearney team but they have stabilised and got back on their feet lately. so Crusaders will be wary of what lies ahead. Josh Casron misses through suspension for this one but after their 2-2 draw with Linfield they will be on a high. Conor McKendry is a danger man but Matthew Shevlin and ex Crusaders player Jamie McGonigle will need watched also.

So a massive game and we need your massive backing as we go for the all important win. Tickets are available at https://colerainefc.com/ticketing/ and we would love to see a big travelling support getting behind us. So buy your ticket and get the famous red and black colours on and bring the singing voice. You being the 12th man will make a difference. Keep the Faith. C'mon the Crues.
