Cliftonville v Crusaders. Danske Bank Premiership. Friday 7th October

6th Oct 2022

Friday night in North Belfast is the place to be as Cliftonville and Crusaders lock horns for the first time this season. Crusaders and Stephen Baxter will want to bounce back immediately from last weeks 4-3 defeat to Carrick Rangers.. Stephen may choose to give a few a start from the bench but one player who will be missing is Paul Heatley who was sent off last week. The squad have trained well this week and got rid of the Carrick Rangers hang over and as always the North Belfast Derby will not need any building up so the lads will be ready. Cliftonville are scoring freely at the minute with the Hale brothers both notching up hat tricks in the last two games so Crusaders will be wary of the threat. Paddy McLoughlins side sit at the top of the table having won six and losing just one of their games so far and they will be wanting to stay there.

Crusaders and Cliftonville met four times last season with Crusaders winning two, Cliftonville one and drawing the other.
