Manager Declan Caddell has confirmed changes to his backroom team ahead of the 2026/27 season at Crusaders F.C.
Caddell is delighted to confirm that experienced coach Ricky McCann has agreed to join the club ahead of the new campaign, bringing vast experience in Sports Science and Strength & Conditioning. McCann has been a key member of the Northern Ireland senior international staff team since 2009 under Michael O’Neill and has also previously been part of trophy-winning backroom teams at both Linfield and Cliftonville.
The Crusaders manager is pleased to secure McCann’s services with plans for pre-season preparations already well underway.
As part of the changes, Davy Rainey and Stevie Livingstone will depart the club’s backroom staff. Caddell wished to place on record his sincere thanks to both men for their hard work, loyalty and support over the past two years, acknowledging the important role they played behind the scenes during his time in charge. He wished them both every success for the future and this will be echoed we are sure by supporters also.
Meanwhile, Jordan Owens, who recently announced his retirement from playing, will now spend some valuable time with his family before deciding on the next step in his career.
Declan paid special tribute to Owens for his unwavering service, professionalism and commitment to the club throughout his time at Seaview, describing him as an outstanding servant to Crusaders Football Club both on and off the pitch.
