Adam McAleenan Signs For Crusaders

19th Jan 2024

Crusaders Football Club have tonight further strengthened their squad and are pleased to announce  the signing of 23 year old Adam McAleenan. The defensive midfielder, who comes from Crossgar, played for Ards before heading to America in 2020 and has returned recently back to Northern Ireland where Stephen has acted quickly to snap up his services on a short term deal to the end of the season.

Speaking to www.crusadersfc.com Adam said “I am looking forward to getting on the pitch and being involved as soon as possible. I know Crusaders are a good side and the players are of a very high standard so I just want to be part of it and play when called upon. Their recent history has been amazing and with so many winners in the squad  it will be good to be involved and help my new team mates put a winning run together”

We  also got Stephens reaction reaction to Adam signing and he said “ Adam is a boy we know a little bit about bacause he has been at Ards and has played Irish League football and has played around all the grounds locally. He is from Crossgar and has had a bit of a start in Irish League football and then across to the states to work on hios studies and play professionally out there for a number of years doing his thing out there. He is a good passer of the ball and we have had him working out with us for the past few weeks and he looks to be able to cope with this level of the game and we are delighted he is joining us on a short term contract and we will see what he can do over the next while and it also helps us with the numbers as we have been depleted the last couple of weeks with injuries and other things going on and we just need the bodies in too see us through the rest of the season”

Welcome Adam and we look forward to seeing you in Red and Black.
